The Port of Plymouth Sailing Association history
The formation of the Port of Plymouth Sailing Association came about directly as a result of the profound changes in the yachting scene which followed the end of World War II. In prewar days there had been no need for such an organisation, but the immediate post-war era was to see a phenomenal growth in sailing which would make heavy demands on the waters of Plymouth Sound and its adjacent rivers.
